About WebCash
WebCash is a Johannesburg based company that enables South Africans to process online transactions in a safe, simple and affordable way. We achieve this through our innovative technology which allows payments made by Internet Bank Transfer (EFT) to be verified in a matter of seconds. We support payments made in this way from the five biggest banks in South Africa, but also provide for online credit card payments in the usual way, should your client prefer.
As a Merchant:
Webcash will take care of your online payments processing. Since the many of the transactions we process are EFT based, our costs are much lower than purely online credit card based processing and we pass that saving onto you - you could halve your current online credit card transaction costs! We charge no minimum monthly fees or set-up costs.
So how does it work?
Once you have registered with us, you use some simple code to point your product order forms to the WebCash gateway with some basic details - such as the amount being processed, product description & a unique transaction ID number. We take the purchaser through the payment process and clear the payment in a matter of seconds. Our server lets your system know when a successful transaction has occurred.
Merchants can log into WebCash at any time to:
- View your processed transactions
- Download a csv file of your processed transactions
- Request to be paid out
- Update your account details
As a Buyer:
You will be directed to the Webcash payments page (SSL encrypted). After selecting your bank you will be given instructions to make a once off payment using a unique beneficiary reference. Once you have completed the payment you will click the "Confirm payment" button, upon which your transaction will be processed and the merchant notified of your purchase.
Credit Card payments from Visa & Mastercard are also supported without the need to sign up for an account or log in through your bank.
